it's a very strange time to put this out isn't it, in the old days it would have been on a Friday at 7pm

It would be nice if they put it on Friday's at 7pm but it seems ITV refuse to show anything but Emmerdale in the 7pm slot. *yawn*

In the great old days of the show with Leslie Crowther it went out on Saturday nights. This version was the best, not the cut down Brucie version.

I can't wait for this! I can't wait to see how it does in the ratings aswell, I predict about 2m but not enough to beat Paul O'Grady

It's interesting that it isn't going against Deal Or No Deal like we all expected. I wonder why they decided to move it?

That version was the best, produced by Central Independent Television!

I always thought the programme was americanised and tacky anyway, and this new presenter irritates me at the best of times, so I certainly won't be watching.

ITV (as usual) are clutching at straws to come up with something in this slot. They lost Paul O'Grady and can't they come up with something new - instead they resurrect a show from the 80s/90s.

What next - "Sunday Night at the Palladium", or "Double Your Money" with the exhumed corpse of Hughie Green - live from Highgate Cemetary? (after all, both these shows were hits in the 60s, so they MUST work just as well today, mustn't they!!!!! Confused Confused Confused )

so people moan about a lack of quiz shows on ITV and here they go and put one on and yet they're being chastised because it might be tacky (or in a slot not to their liking)? They really are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Who in their right mind says there aren't enought quiz shows on ITV Shocked . They fill 3 channels with quizes/games all night, and have a dedicated channel for games (ITV Play).

In the sense of a casual viewer these overnight things/ITV play are not actually game/quiz shows. The more traditional game/quiz show are on for either 30 minutes or 60 minutes.
The overnight shows are nothing more than interactive making money machines that work on the weaked willed of the popluation (although I do prefer Quizmania to The Mint!), where is the entertainment value in these shows? - note I have never phoned in and never will - I just watch to help me get to sleep as on most nights they are well and truly boring!

For most of the 80's and early 90's ITV had 3 gameshow slots during the daytime - 925am (probably the best slot for any daytime gameshows), another one which was either 230pm or 3pm (depending on region/show) and lastly the other gameshow slot was 515pm (the old Blockbusters). If anything the old 515pm could now be classed a 5pm therefore it is a more traditional gameshow slot!

So what reason/justification did ITV have for moving CITV considering that The Price Is Right is now going to be shown at 5pm?????

It's also about time that ITV did bring back 30 minute prime-time gameshows - they do still work and if anything they could still be popular if the right presenter is chosen to front the shows.

If ITV wanted to dent C4 runaway viewing figures for that part of the daytime then they should be showing Evergreen at 430pm then The Price Is Right at 530pm!

I think they've gone for the cheapo, more downmarket, rowdy style of the original Leslie Crowther version.

Incidentally, I don't suppose anyone has any footage, pictures or otherwise of Bob 'Central News' Warman's Price Is Right from Sky One? I'd love to see some of it.

Watching the 5pm version, I'm not very impressed. The graphics are too Supermarket Sweep, the music is crap, the models don't excite me as much as the Brucie versions, and how boring is it when they just walk onto the wheel? Not like in Brucies where it had it's own little title sequence and music.

And, has anyone realised that they have dropped the top Showcase Showdown range from £5k to £3k? They also took £50 off the bullseye in.. Bullseye.
