Looks like Price Drop is off the air at the moment. Currently showing a sexy black screen with a white caption saying "we apologise for the lack of service due to technical problems" Not sure if its affecting other bid type channels as we only get this channel on analogue cable here in MK.

One can't help but think back to the undigified endings of TV Travel Shop or Auction World... if only!!

Makes you realise that there are four whole slots on Freeview which could be put to so much better use! I'm so used to flicking past them I don't even notice they're there any more.

That caption is very sexy.

EDIT: Oh and it's the same on Bid Up.

Interesting that...

Both Price Drop and Bid up closed down for a few hours the other day (from around 1am) instead of showing Screenshop so they could carry out essential maintenance!

Just like the BBC every year - first time I've seen a (non BBC) channel go off air for essential maintenance, I think!

Well actually, as I'm only about 10 minutes away from their studios, I'd go an check what's wrong... but It's dark and cold so I can't be bothered!

You don't suppose it's another "Ideal World" style fire, do you?

There's actually a couple of specks on the caption which almost makes me think they're broadcasting it from a slide (though, they're obviously not).

So, Price Drop and Bid Up. Two Birds and One Stone if you ask me.

I'm guessing it's just a technical problem, rather than them being forced off air.

It won't be long before you can start bidding for the slide Laughing

There's a few clips on MHP Private Parts about the downtime of Ideal World back in 2001.
