Presentation on Channel 4, More 4, E4 and Film 4

Here is a thread to discuss presentation on the Channel 4 Television family of channels: Channel 4, More 4, E4 and Fillm 4.

Channel 4 launched its current PRES package on 31 December 2004. This was the original batch of idents in that set:

City, Bowling, Road Signs, Pylons, Corn Field, Alien, Diner, High-Rise Estate, Urban Street

Since then, they've added more.
Trafalgar (September 2006)
Music (summer 2006)
Container (summer 2006)
Tokyo (summer 2006)
Sofa (September 2006)
Island (October 2006)
Old Man (October 2006)

I've used The TV Room (Channel 4 2004 - Present) as the source for the above.

The past week I've been trying to collect the idents used by all the Channel 4 Television channels (Channel 4, More 4, E4 and Film 4) by recording them. So far, I've got the following Channel 4 idents:

Bowling, City, Container, Corn Field, High-Rise Estate, Island, Pylons, Road Signs, Tokyo, Urban Street

I've also managed to get one featuring a roller coaster, which is not shown on the TV Room site. Does anyone know when that first appeared?

Unfortunately I've not been able to get the following Channel 4 idents.
Alien, Diner, Trafalgar, Music, Sofa, Old Man.

Do they still get shown? If so, when's the best time to catch them? Some of the ones I've got seem to get shown a lot, e.g. Pylons and Bowling. Has anyone else seen Alien, Diner, Trafalgar, Music, Sofa, or Old Man on Channel 4 lately.

As far as I know "Old Man" has never been shown on TV.

Is Trafalger the one with the pigeons??

There was some complaints about that ident a few months ago by animal welfare activists. Maybe they've pulled it for that reason

As for Sofa, has that actually been shown since Richard Whitley died? (It was Richard in it wasn't it, and not the Des Lynham?) Not sure if it was edited.

Really? It's funny how it says "Old Man. Introduced October 2006" on The TV Room. Perhaps that's why there's no screen shots of it there.

Don't recall the sofa ident.

So I guess they must have stopped after Whitley died.

Any images of it?

Like I say "as far as I know" it was only seen on the Channel 4 website, but I could be wrong on that one.

Just checked, it was Des Lynham not Richard. I'll upload some caps in a sec.

Old Man appears on the C4 Sales site but has never made it to air. Sofa was dropped following Des Lynam's resignation from countdown. Stage and Alien are still in use but rarely used. All the rest are in regular rotation.
