would that 11,500 made a difference to the outcome for the vote?

4.05pm: Vodafone has admitted that, due to a technical problem, 11,500 text votes for Saturday's Dancing on Ice final were not counted. More follows...

Sounds more like a problem with the mobile operator than the service provider (which I believe is the dreaded Eckoh).

Quite funny on Deal or No Deal today - someone from "Deal" won the competition!

According to ITV, the votes wouldn't have affected the result. 1.5m were cast on Saturday:

Does anyone know if/ when Brainteaser will return to five?

No idea - it's all gone quite quiet on that front.

I doubt it to be honest though - if Five wanted it back I think it might have returned without the phone in element by now, but I think the creating fake winners has been deemed more serious than other issues in the whole premium rate scandal.

On the other hand though, Five happily signed up Quiz Call after they'd admitted to doing something similar!

P.S. C4 are launching spoof show "Swizz Call" as part of it's Comedy Lab strand later this year.

Hopefully they'll announce soon what is happening...

Probably, though I've heard it phrased like that on occassions before.

This is what I fear we're going to end up with - viewers being treated as the thickest of the thick and every possible issue being explained in painful detail.

The one which annoys me most at the moment is when they say you'll be charged if you call after lines close. Bloody obvious IMO - just as if you enter by post you wouldn't get a refund on the stamp if it arrived the day after the deadline!

Channel 4's 'Deal or No Deal' must make a bit of dosh on the competitions. As when you phone in you are charged £1 whether you get through or not. What a rip off..

But when the LINES CLOSE it should mean exactly that. Nobody should be able to call or vote after that, so no charges should apply.

When voting ends they should cut that number from the network. Has anyone ever been charged for trying to ring someone whose phone has been cut off? Shocked

But that's the scam. Idiots keep calling until they do get through. If every single call simply went into a "raffle" for the prize they would only get a fraction of the revenue.

I suppose you have a message on your answerphone telling everyone who calls you that they will be charged whether you answer or not! Wink

True - but it works both ways, the people who do get through know they've got through. IMO it's just doing random selection a stage earlier and if I phoned through to be told I hadn't been selected, that would be the end of it.

Then again though, I'm not in the mindset where I'd ring up in the first place.
