And Media Guardian reporting that finally ICSTIS have realised it's not just TV who profits from premium rate phone ins - the radio stations have been called in for tomorrow.

Just hope they get round to the press soon - after all, the latest allegations against radio - Suggs requesting your requests on air at the same time as being live on Ant and Dec on ITV1 - surfaced in the Mail on Sunday.

Although just because the presenter isn't there doesn't mean that the requests won't be played either in that programme (it won't be totally pre-recorded, just voice-tracked) or stored up for a future one. In the case of LBC it was just a couple of presenters forgetting to say the full speil about costs

according to the front pages on the ITV News, The Sun are tomorrow leading with a story saying that David Gest was wrongly voted out in last year's I'm a Celebrity

Don't you think the papers are cluching at straws now. We've done the phone scam story, move on
Secondly, who cares about David Gest not winning IACGMOOH, it was months ago, what next, the News of the World reveals how 'Gareth Gates should have won Pop Idol' shocker?!

According to Media Guardian Eckoh are saying that the IACGMOOH e-mails are fabricated: http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,,2032796,00.html

I know my first question when all this broke over Richard and Judy was how are the press getting hold of (confidential) e-mails.

Ironically in the middle of all this the Government have announced they are lifting the ban on Casinos and betting shops advertising on TV. Must admit I didn't realise there was one considering the likes of Tote and 888.com regularly sponsor shows.

And also, the press all trying to take the moral high ground on this (not mentioning they use premium rate lines for comps too) - but today the Daily Star have been forced to pay substantial damages for completly fabricating stories about Big Brother 6 contestant Lesley.

I think there should be a review of the effectiveness of ICSTIS.

What good is a regulatory body if they wait for the press to point out errors?

Those 'emails' do smack of The Sun making up a load of rubbish.

I doubt it was The Sun to blame. The Daily Mirror carried the same front-page story.

I think its referring to the ITV Play slots on ITV1/2.

Media Guardian reporting any inquiries will only have to cover current and future programming according to ICSTIS.

So that's Love Island in the clear then!

Also ICSTIS have identified five core areas they need to look into:

Quote:
He added that five main "risk areas" had been identified which broadcasters should look into, including connectivity, content and cost.

Issues highlighted included votes not being counted in time for live announcements and entries for competitions that were not considered even when they were made before the closing time.

Other areas of concern included phone-lines remaining open when programmes are repeated and pricing information not displayed in a prominent way.

The channel will probably simulcast the late night ITV1 show until something is found for that channel space on freeview.

They could go down the C4 route and just stick ITV2+1 on there in the short term, while ITV Movies has been long touted - though that will strip even more content from ITV2 (and ITV3 and 4).

Any ideas for a new channel to replace ITV Play?

I was thinking a timeshare channel: sport during the day, news overnight.

I still think an ITV Classic Movies channel could do well if it broadcast 6pm-6am. ITV4 could then go 24-hours also.
