Have to say, after reading that, that although he may be a bit biased I would say that he was one of the people that WASN'T aware of what was going on & I would possibly say that Quizmania wa sone of the few that wasn't seeing as they gave clues to some of the answers from time to time.
However a few that I have seen definately were fixed, for legal reasons I won't say what
But to brand them all the same is a case of people jumping on the bandwagon, TV would be a better place without them but again it is a case of people blaming others for their errors, in some cases

Worth a read. Hopefully he can back this up for us.
Now, I wouldn't say people were thick and stupid, it is freedom for choice and all that. People obviously need to know how the game is operating (as ironically mentioned in a previous post) but I've noticed on many occasions the 'presenters' deliberately target the drunk and vulnerable. i.e words like "Now you've probably just been down the pub and are a little tipsy after a night out... give us a call? What have you got to lose?" Lets just say it could be considered people are in a "thick state" at that time.

ITV News channel?
Doubt you'd ever see that again.
ITV Play = revenue generating (although remains to be seen how much after this whole debacle)
ITV News = loss making

ITV News channel?
Something that isn't run by ITV.

ITV Play Cleared: MediaGuardian
Interestingly, this only refers to ITV Play programming on ITV1, and makes no reference to the channel itself returning.

I think the return of ITV Play, whether to ITV1/2 during the night or as a seperate channel will depend on viewing figures now.
I believe the "bubble has burst" on public trust in these scams and there is little mileage left in them commercially (I hope)
Perhaps it's time to consider using the DTT bandwidth more effectively from now on.

Yes, for either another film channel, decent music channel, sports channel, classics channel, but no more radio stations there's far too many seeing as most are on DAB

I think Michael Grade may be about to do this considering this quote from last week on the subject of ITV Play...
Link
I may be completely barking up the wrong tree here, but taking into account the following...
* The 'we hope to be back soon' being swiftly removed from the ITV Play off-air slide.
* Grade's statement above.
* ITV Play on ITV1 programming being the real money-spinner, not ITV Play's channel exclusive programming.
* ITV Play on ITV1 being given the green light only so far.
* Quiz channels inevitably taking a dip in popularity following the last two weeks' controversy.
... I do wonder if ITV Play may be reduced eventually to late night ITV1 only, with the channel's bandwidth being used for something else.
Just speculation, obviously.

"I don't believe it's damaging to the brand, I really don't. What interests me is allocation of resources. One of our resources is spectrum and access to spectrum.
"What interests me is whether we are getting full value and a proper return from that spectrum we occupy. ITV Play is part of that review. But I don't have any problem with it in principle, no."
