No surprise really that the Gambling Commission are calling for either tougher questions to qualify for TV competitions or for them to be classed as lotteries and hence hit with a compulsory 20% charity contribution which is inevitably just passed on to the viewer.

The stupidest thing is though the suggestion that Free Web Entry isn't enough to say viewers can participate for free - with some idiot apparantly suggesting that people should be able to apply by post too.

I suppose they could have their entry couriered to the quiz operator for the like of "Deal Or No Deal". Royal Mail couldn't get it there on time, especially today. Shocked

There really are some planks about aren't there! Laughing

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I noticed last night as I was flicking through the channels that on The Hits, Win Win TV was on as normal, then I turned over again at about 1am and noticed that it was normal late-night music videos. Anyone know why?

It messed up and someone won £2.75 on the Bonus Ball Bonanza, so they unplugged the Celeron in a panic that anyone else might win something.

But the questions on Make Your Play are already very difficult. The other night it was Big_______. With hundreds of possible answers, and the ones that are there being really obscure, how do they suggest making it more difficult?

Haha, brilliant! Laughing

Yeah, this premium rate nonsense is all building up yet again only this time they're supposedly playing "by the rules". I was flicking channels the other night and Fake Your Play was just showing a blue multicoloured screen with the game and no commentary...then the prat from Scooch appeared.

As for Win Win TV, what was wrong with having on-screen games while music videos are playing? Rolling Eyes

I noticed ITV Play wasn't on either ITV1 or 2 last Sunday night through to early Monday morning, and normal overnight
programming was shown on both channels in it's place. Was that a one-off, or (hopefully) a sign of things to come?

That started happening last week, I think Sunday night/Monday morning is the poorest day for ITV Play.

This might only be an ITV EPG issue so far as Freeview is concerned (not the first time its happened) but there's been big gaps in the EPG listing for ITV1 and the CITV channel as of late. A gap conveniently appears where Make Your Play/Glitterball would go. Apparently one programme finishes at midnight and then the next programme is scheduled at 4am, there is no mention of Make Your Play or Glitterball at all. On the same note, according to the EPG for Freeview, CITV starts at 6am and shows nothing for the best part of four hours.

My EPG is fine on Sky and Freeview as far as ITV1 is concerned. CITV is messed up though on Freeview.

Unless I post again in 5 minutes, assume Glitterball is on.
