Good things - preceding animation looks lovely, reminiscent of something from the 90s. Re-edited Sky Movies idents work very well.

Not-so-good - I prefer the Sky Sports UK presentation and hope it isn't dropped for something like that. Although well produced, it's overly-dramatic and the logos at the end look like after thoughts, particularly the Sky Sport logo. I think it would become boring quickly.

Yes, it's a bit 90's with the blue and gold and clouds in the back.

The sky sports ident is good, it seems like it could be used here, they might keep the current sky sports logo or change the SKY in it to sky.

I get the feeling that sky in the UK might use the glass ident before sky 1/2/3 idents as they don't have a corproate logo in them.

I wouldn't expect any of the branding or idents from Sky DE will be coming to Sky UK

You mean the prelude idents of the glass logo on black?

I would like to see something like that over here. A set glass logo intro (it looked good with The Take) which animates into the channel ident.

Exactly mdtauk something like this, I got to admit the Sky Sport ident might date quickly, unless they plan on revamping it, not sure if they have their own set of graphics, I presume they do, but sky sport de is very different to sky sports uk.

Sky Sport info screen from a DS user called sg_ , thanks for the cap Smile

on their boxes, its allows you to access the subservices(the sports events) which was the old Premiere way of doing it.

They have "marbelous" ratings screen because of German law... wow... Very Happy
What if Sky UK uses those backgrounds for their warnings?

Trivia: On the top right of sky.de , there is a link to a supermarket franchise of the same name.

they were using sky.de domain before, that's why that link at the top is there. Smile

Other than the new idents and rename, its still pretty much the same service, but sky sport hd is an useful addition IMHO, I hope they use it to screen English Premiere League in HD.

I personally LOVE the Sky DE Sport idents - and based on rumours circulating on this forum, may form the basis of the forthcoming Sky Sports refresh.

I don't believe there is any forthcoming refresh for sky sports, nor do I imagine the will be ditching the current logo anytime soon.

I hope I am wrong and they ditch their enclosed logo for something nice and typographic to match the other channels along with sky news.

I think these rumours started on the assumption all sky channel logos would switch to the lowercase one, and after some of the sky de logos were leaked and bandied around.

I'll see if I can get some grabs of the DOG's used on these channels, all I can say is on the sports one, the DOG is too big and not very transparent.

Love the sky sport animation except for the final frame - very much an after-thought!

Love to see something very similar over here - not for sky posrts 1,2,3,Xtra (and supposedly the forthcoming Sky Sports 4 - whatever happened to that idea???) but it would be great for a refreshed widescreen version of Sky Sports News!!!

I hadn't spotted this thread before I went away - but was in Berlin this time last week, and spotted Sky signs outside some bars and (what I presume were) betting shops, but couldn't fathom why. This'll explain it, then Smile
