Will be interesting to see how coverage tails off over the years. Suspect a presentation crew at every match for 6 simultaneous kick-off may not survive till the end.

I think the 2 minute delay is something that needs sorting if live streaming will be the future.

That's how streaming over the internet works.

However the BBC R&D department is working on reducing the buffer and hence the delay, when I get home I’ll search for the article that was online a while ago. They seemed to be reengineering the packets so that there’d be smaller ones transmitted faster..

EDIT ... this is the 2018 Blog post (found much more quickly than I imagined)

It's still largley a trade off of speed against buffering. Still we'll soon have a 1Gb/s fibre into all our homes, so win win

Probably not as long as you avoid any goal alerts & social media posts and put your phone away. Given that a lot of viewers now have multiple screens on the go at anytime they have to be a bit more disciplined when watching streaming games.

Clive Tyldesley and Alan Shearer in the comms box for ARSBRI, a combination probably nobody imagined ever occurring in 2019.

Is a huge step backwards from the minimal day we had in the analogue terrestrial days. Really does affect betting as well.

A very ITV England match vibe about tonight.
