These days you'll often find OB Graphics trucks travel along either from the broadcaster or a supplier. I've been at a match where an OB truck produces one clean match output (no graphics and the wipes are a fast fade), but also two different dirty outputs. One with host broadcaster graphics and the other generic league graphics.

A separate graphics truck generated these and was just another render engine bolted on with different graphics templates loaded in. The keying was done by the uplink truck - given graphics animated on and off, no one needed to manually control these.

I was pretty certain that the clean feed from the ground had a generic PL wipe, but no other graphics.

Entirely possible it’s changed or I’m misremembering, but I thought I remembered seeing one with no wipes.

The only versions I’ve seen recently were the fully produced match coverage (graphics and all).

I'll check on Wednesday! Usually by the time the match is underway I've got something else to concentrate on.

Sat watching the clean feed from Liverpool v Sheffield Utd, and it has PL wipes into replays. No other graphics, other than, presumably, VAR (which we haven’t seen... yet). About 8 seconds ahead of a digibox feed of BT Sport 1, out of interest.

how are you getting the clean feed?

Perhaps they work somewhere that's entitled to receive it. (There aren't that many!)

Bit late noticing this but giving the Radio Times one last glance today spotted the Boxing Day and New Years Day matches were pretty much all exclusive to TalkSport, with 5Live restricted to updates. Guess this followed the Saturday model where I think 5Live just get a 3pm kick off live nowadays.

Years ago I had the chance to watch the live MOTD feeds and about 90% of the time it felt like a normal commentary but every now and again when nothing was happening they'd say something to their producer or occasionally drift off mid-sentence. You could tell when there was a stat or fact they hoped would get in the edit because they'd mention it a few times during the game.

Some raw MOTD commentary here - https://clyp.it/user/idkbgt4p
