I've been watching MTV Dance on the Wellington Videowall this evening, and noticed that MTV seem to have introduced some quite consistent pops and clicks during each song. Usually, just a few seconds into it.
Are such annoyances part of some anti-piracy measures, or just the general crappyness of MTV?
Only seem to notice it on MTV Dance. Actually makes the channel sound rather ****, not that is isn't in the first place - currently the Sky details show a programme called "All New Dance Toonies", last two tracks have been Lisa Scott-Lee "Too Far Gone", and Plummet "Damaged". Hardly cutting edge...
(I am right in thinking that captions are not pre-burned on MTV channels, right?)
I think they used to be pre-burned.... i saw a old skool I got mashed in 1988 programme and, not only did the video look like it was being played off vhs, the old style music television strap was present.

I know The Box used to pre-burn the titles pre-2000.
My NTL box has popped and clicked whenever there's a loud sound ever since a software "upgrade". Since most music channels seem to be about twice as loud as all they click constantly!
Of course if you're watching on Sky then maybe it is. Why should MTV care about piracy though?
