Funny enough, it was only after watching Sunday's show and its finale with the ticker tape falling that made me realise that after week, Top of the Pops will be no more.

The fact that TOTP2 will be making a comeback is barely any consolation - surely the common sense solution is to find a direct replacement for TOTP, if such a thing is possible.

Any idea when TOTP2 will return? I presume Steve 'Roland' Wright will still present it?

Not sure on a date for when TOTP2 will return, or whether it will be a proper weekly series or more regular specials.

Also not sure on Wrighty, but I hope to be proved wrong-y and someone else will be brought in.

I'm pretty sure that TOTP2 isn't actually returning as we used to know it - i.e regular weekly series.

As far as I can gather, it's only going to be the odd special now and again - pretty much like now - so basically that means once or twice a year I guess - with the same old clips, etc...etc...etc... ! You can bet your life the Christmas TOTP2 will be the next time we see the TOTP brand on the BBC again after Sunday.

Talking of Sunday's show, I mentioned earlier, that I was lucky enough to get tickets to the pre-record tomorrow (Weds) night at TVC (for Sunday's final show)

Does anyone have any knowledge at all of who will be performing? Seems to be pretty tight lipped everywhere - I've not heard anything really, other than confirmation of some of the past presenters.....

Just be interesting to know before I get there who is on !!!!

Cheers

I'm going on what the papers are saying (i.e. not that reliable!) which is that the last show will just be some old faces looking back at past performances. I hope this is wrong and we are given a proper show - I'd rather it to be a surprise though, which is why I'm a bit disappointed the last one won't be live.

Get Mark Radcliffe into to do it, he used to be much better when he covered for 'Roland' on TOTP2. Maybe even Sir Terence might consider doing it!! Songs picked by the TOGs Laughing
