It's amazing how much interest there has been about it - due to my 44 times attending - I've got some more filming and radio interviews lined up this coming weekend. I am evening filming a piece (which I did the pre-record links outside TV Centre this afternoon) for a dutch tv news channel.

As I say, it's been one hectic day!!!!

I bet, it must have been so exciting yet very emotional being at a show you've been a part of so many times. People say about the memories, but it's never really the same is it. With TOTP going this can only see even more of a downturn in Music Television, which I find very disheartening indeed Sad

Yes quite true - and it was genuinely quite sad at the end....

By the way, they will reveal on Sunday that the next time we see TOTP will be "towards the end of the year" in a best of 2006 "special" ???

Xmas day maybe still?

Still, excellent time and then I had to go straight to BBC News 24 and do a live interview about it - did anyone catch this????

My mum was watching and I hapenned to walk through the room.

Very sad though, as TOTP is something both of us have grown up with (albeit, with her it was The Kinks & the Stones, with me it was the Spice Girls and Oasis.......). IMO, the show could have bene saved if they'd moved it into a slot where it wasn't opposite Corrie or Emmerdale. I'm not sure what was wrong with the old Thursdays after EastEnders slot. The only reason I stopped watching was because of Corrie. The BBC just wanted to kill it.

I agree.. putting it on BBC2 7pm Sundays against Emmerdale (one the highest rating shows in the UK) wasn't exactly going to attract more viewers!! Rolling Eyes

Couldn't the BBC keep it going, using Public Service Broadcasting as an excuse? I am sure there are far worse (in terms of quality/ ratings) programmes broadcast by the BBC in name of PBS! It's not the quite same thing for the BBC if ratings slide, since they don't have sell commercials.

Having said that, I presume TOTP must have got too expensive to justify its existence Confused:

Nice one Paul, glad to hear you had a great time last night, can't wait to see the show now on Sunday and hopefully not let my emotions get the better of me. Good to hear you and Janice got on famously as well, I am very pleased she accepted the invitation to appear on the final show.

Did they have mock-ups of any of the sets, eg. the cascade stage, the neon roundels, the "spiderweb" stage etc.? I remember hearing rumours a few years ago that TOTP were going to construct sets based upon some of their classic set designs, but it never materialised.

Sounds like there may still be a TOTP Christmas special this year, hopefully at 2pm on Christmas Day, my Christmas Dinner wouldn't be the same without TOTP on in the background...

What a shame that the people who give the ratings for listings guides such as Digiguide didn't see the funny side in giving the last TOTP a "5 Star" rating!

All I can say is a lot of people will probably be watching, come "Rain Or Shine"...

(OK, Sorry, I'll get my coat!)

I still think that it's a piss take that there isn't going to be one studio act tomorrow night, but I am looking forward to seeing how everything ties together for the final time.

May I ask how you managed to get tickets for 44 tapings? I thought they were particularly difficult to get hold of - I remember stories of a LONG waiting list.
