I was wondering what the BBC's stance on Poppys was this year. I was watching World News on News 24 this morning, and Lyse Doucet was wearing a poppy, would she have to remove this when she presents the world bulletins again or have World presenters/guests been allowed to wear them this year.
Well I cant remember Nik Gowing wearing one, mind you he's probably eaten it. Still it is a bit early for them. Nearly all BBC News 24, BBC One News, Five News & ITV News presenters that i've seen today have been wearing them - very good too.

I saw Lyse on BBC World this morning, and she didn't have a poppy on, nor have any of the other presenters today. So, it seems they are following the last few years and not allowing BBC World presenters to wear poppies. IIRC, last year there was an article on Media Guardian saying that although the presenters were not allowed to wear them on air, studio guests would not be asked to take them off if they were wearing them.
I've just been thinking - the BBC World presenters aren't wearing poppies this year, yet BBC Prime is carrying the Cenotaph live on Sunday, as well as the Festival of Remembrance - what's the logic in this decision? Most viewers of BBC Prime are likely to have BBC World too, so they might as well just let the news presenters wear the poppies.
