Are they still using that stock ancient Game Boy (from the brick era) on Corrie these days? The one that every time someone plays on it, it's playing Kirby's Dreamland. Come to think of it, whenever they're playing on any other console including the stock PS2 I've seen a few times, it still has the same sound off Kirby's Dreamland coming out of it. Nintendo must be branching out...

Not so long ago on Coro, Molly (or was it Fiz?!) suggested that Kirk might appear on North-West Tonight because of his kennel-related exploits.

I'm sure Coro is made by Granada , as in [ B]Granada[/B] Reports , ITV's news programme in the north-west of England?! If Emmerdale can promote Calendar , why do Coro promote the opposition? Laughing

Also Weatherfield's council is variously referred to as Weatherfield Borough Council, Weatherfield Town Council or Weatherfield County Council?

EastEnders is pretty poor at continuity, especially on a change of script writer.

I hate to think what next week's episodes will be like, with the original Monday and Tuesday ones being nailed together for an hour on Thursday; then the Thursday and Friday ones for an hour on Friday.

I'll take a pound to a pinch of doggy-doo that the original four episodes had different writers, so we'll see a total change of attitude from Pauline half way through each of the composites.

Well, the Monday and Tuesday episodes which will air as one episode next Thursday have been written by the same writer, but the Thursday and Friday episodes which will air as one episode on Friday are by two different writers.

There is an problem as in the original Tuesday episode, has Patrick puts a Trinidad & Tobago flag in his window in preparation for the big match on Thursday but as the episode has been moved it means the match would have already taken place by the time the scene is shown.

Anyway, EastEnders is good at keeping up with the news, it was the only soap to talk about last year election and only a few weeks ago an new scene was add to the episode which saw Garry and Minty talk about West Ham lossing to Liverpool as Garry and Minty are big West Ham fans.

Once in the very late 1990s (or possibly even early 2000s), the telly in one of the Coronation Street living rooms could be heard blasting out the classic "ITV Schools" (on Channel 4) music!

Obviously meant to help imply late morning for plot reasons, but in the real world the tune had been dropped a fair few years earlier.

Not sure if it's just me, but I notice "real" brands like for example I saw Golden Wonder crisps in Emmerdale.

I remember in 2001 seeing a scene in the corner shop where logos on the products were blacked out- like an episode of Blue Peter!

And We all remember Nick Tilsley ordering a Stelburg, as pointed out by Harry Hill.

coronation street often use This Morning music and recently mike baldwin commented on fern britan

craig also mentioned being on north west tonight when he and rosie chained themselves to the butchers door

eastenders played the original bbc breakfast music a fair few years ago to give the impression somebody had dozed off in front of the tv and the music woke them up.

anyway all soaps have bad continuity because the sets are like taridis' and grown rooms as required, how many bedrooms does the queen vic have at present

Which is a library track, still available for use by whoever wants it. Whether producers would have remembered its more famous use is open to debate.

In the 1980s, Emmerdale Farm featured a visit to the village (in the storyline) by a crew from Calendar, complete with white news van. Richard Whiteley may even have appeared.

Similarly, Wesley Smith had a cameo in the "Remorseful Day" episode of Inspector Morse.

Whenever anybody goes to the Internet at the cafe in Emmerdale , they go on an internet search engine called 'Poodle'-- with the same fonts and colours as Google!!

I presume Wes was reading the news on Morse . He may not be able to do that on Lewis for much longer!! Rolling Eyes

Slightly off-topic - i.e. not a soap - but in the unused scenes from Bridget Jones Diary, Bridget and Daniel Cleaver (in 2001 remember) are watching Jimmy White play in the Snooker World championship. Based on the decor of the Crucible, the aspect ratio of the TV signal - oh and Jimmy's pre-transplant hairstyle, it must be a match from 1993/4.

I don't know if they still do this, but didn't "The Bill" go though a period fairly recently of playing either Dangermouse or Count Duckula on almost every TV they showed?
