I missed it. Mind you, if its a naff before the news version now.. I'm glad I did.

Did they still use the "he's crashed, he's crashed.." theme tune?

It's had a remix, but you still hear "he's crashed, he's crashed" at the end, our good friend David Lowe is still on the credits for the theme tune, so I guess he's updated it.

And it's still Optomen Television that makes it, but as you'd guess there was nothing to do with Carlton on it.

I think one of the best PCA's I've seen is the one where they show footage from around 1991 where they follow a police car around Central London trying to reach the hospital to get a heart transplant to someone just in the nick of time.

Yeah that was the one they showed in real-time, very good episode.

That episode wasn't real time (big jump somewhere along which skips a few minutes) but I'm sure it went out originally on ITV without adverts as opposed to how it goes out now on ITV4.

Oh my memory may be playing tricks, was close to real time though.

There's a nice page here about Police Camera Action and the Liver Run episode here, which it turns out the original liver run was done in 1987 and made into a PCA special episode in 1996:

What happended to tonight's Police Camera Action (Mon 15th Oct)??? Why was it replaced by Commando on the front line???? Has Alastair Stewart been given the boot or are they moving the show to Thursdays at 10pm instead where Commando was?

The programmes have been swapped over. Commando ratings may improve in the new slot.
