I REALLY hate HTV West posted:
Well, I watched

Crikey, Chris, that'll have made a pig's ear of the rota.

Wasn't it supposed to be the little old lady in Glastonbury watching tonight?

Am I right in thinking that BBC West played in the audio on the end of the national news themselves, George just saying goodbye rather than we're back just before 7 now here's the news teams across the UK?

Doubt it. In the northwest it was also audio over the plane landing, with George just saying Bye and the music.

I THINK George and Sophie get told to just say "goodnight" and not mention "back before seven" whenever ANY region is opting out for an hour.

I've noticed it before, when one of the northern regions have been doing it.

hmm well the nations never go back for the headlines as far as I'm aware... but that's another debate Wink

Quite apart from the three 'regions' that never go back. For a while it seemed like they'd changed the phrase to, "there'll be an update just before seven..", but they've now gone back to promising that viewers will see their particular cheery faces.

So far it has been a lovely programme, I've not seen any coverage thus far today, apart from the morning previews, so I'm enjoying this. And I liked the woman who's not Susan Osman.

I noticed Shafernaker suddenly emerge from underneath the male choir on the stairs thingyo behind the presenters after they had sung their song [where had he been for so long, sitting down tickling their legs?] gesticulating all sorts of panicky messages to someone else. It wasn't even his turn anyway.

He does get about though doesn't he, little BBC weather tart.

I like the way David Garmston did the late news despite being in Heathrow for the main programme - surely it would have been easier to use either Chris or Sally as they were just in Filton?
