Why does the Sky EPG list every English Region as A question of Sport on Friday??

The Regional EPG's are crap. I'm sure there just the London one copied with the news changed to North west/South East ETC. It does not even list Sundays North Super League show. It’s just the same as all English regions!!

And Sky thinks they’re the best at everything!!!

London Tonight was VERY interesting. They were talking about this super aircraft and giving away tickets. I’m sure next time I’m on Ryanair they’ll let me know just how common I am! Shame Concorde is going.

The North West EPG is always wrong as it lists North West Tonight at Lunchtime when it's actually North West Today, there is obviously not the software to change the automation of putting one regional news programme name in.

I think they North West EPG has changed, when they were showing two one off programmes earlier in the year.

If they do, Chris, you might like to pass it up the line that they're getting it wrong.

I've got BBC1 West on the main channel of 101 and it STILL says Question of Sport for 19:00 tomorrow.

It's only my life subscription to Radio Times which is telling me otherwise.

I don't think there's a facility to have separate EPG schedules for the English regions; it's just "BBC One England".

Then how are the names of the regional news programmes inserted at the relevant times? Surely, if that can be done then the entry can be changed on another region?

That's a very good question. I'll look into it.

EDIT: I've looked into it. Although there aren't separate schedules like there are for the nations, it is possible to set an opt flag to have the regional news programmes as sub-events attached to a main schedule event (i.e. LDN).

I would assume this means they could enter the Concorde programme as an opt-out of QoS, so maybe the information hasn't been passed to the EPG schedulers ... probably worth someone from BBC West speaking to them (back to you Chris Laughing).

For the historical record, it was Anthony Wedgewood Benn who was very much championned the production of Concorde. He did this because it meant jobs for his constituents.

Not that there's anything wrong with doing things for the benefit of your constituents. And because he was minister for technology when work started on it.

Quote:

For the amount of money that was spent on the development of Concorde, the whole of the British Railway network could have been completely electrified several times over. However the preference was to go for the option that would benefit only a small minority of society who needed the lest benefit,
ie extremely wealthy executives, as opposed to the ordinary average working man or woman who commutes by rail each day.

I do hope that Points West will consider these points when looking back on this technological white elephant.

But like all investments it was a risk, if everything had gone according to plan all the money would have been made back. Also the only reason that it was a plane for the elite is because there aren't very many of them. If every airline had one the proce would be far lower...... imagine an Easyjet Concorde

I work for BA & used to be cabin crew on Concorde, so I'm really keen to see tonughts Points West - does anyone know if I have to set my Sky+ to record both Points West AND QoS??? Or will just Points West do? I don't want Sky + cutting out at 7pm (the Concorde related bits will probably be in the 2nd half hour)........thanks for any info!
Confused of Gatwick.

You cannot currently get Sky+ to record two things at once. (Don't get me started on that one - Sky announcedc two months ago that the software to allow this was due to be released imminently...)

Anyway, why not set Sky+ to record BBC ONE West for the hour, and watch QoS from BBC ONE LDN?

As there's some issue over the extended West opt not appearing on the EPG, I would suggest the setting of a Manual Recording:

Press Services
Option 6
Enter Channel Number (956 for BBC ONE West)
Enter the start and end times

et voila!

Hope you enjoy the programme.
