A separate clean feed? This is news to me. I was of the understanding that the LNN Network feed was the only line that UTV/Scottish/Grampian were ever going to be getting. Given the lack of investment at the station generally, I would doubt very much that UTV management would be willing to pay for a clean feed. Likewise for the equally miserable SMG.

Realistically, ITV 1 N. Ireland and ITV 1 Scotland *will* happen in the not too distant future. Certainly no need for any clean feed then!!


It's in the terms of the Carlton-Granada merger - the new ITV plc must provide a clean feed to the other franchise holders.

Yeah, just like Wales. I can see ITV in Scotland has got a great future ahead of it...

I wonder if given the choice UTV would actually want a clean feed!

Imagine what UTV will look like then, totally clean credits with no ECP or voice over, a few trailers and then a clean ident (cough extended frozen breakbumper cough). On screen there would totally be no mention of what programme is coming up next!

SMG are in a much stronger position than HTV Wales ever was for starters it's not owned by Carlton !!! .and much as Wales is a nation they do tend to go hand in hand with England more so than Scotland does .

One hears so much on the news especially about law and education England and Wales blah blah thankfully not Scotland though as we are very seperate especially as far as law goes ITV are finding that out the hard way .

I'm not saying Scotland is that great i mean look at Lorraine Kelly now that is painful !!! all i'm saying is that it's not going to be as easy as everyone thinks to get rid of Scottish /Grampian TV branding .
