Thanks Smile
Also, I take it that is the 1993 set right?
I thought that had lots of colour on and wasn't just blue, or did they update it?

That was the studio before the one changed in 1996. If you get what I mean.

That was the studio before, before the 1998 change!

Thanks, it looks a lot better.
Do you think they will do away with that bank of TVs?
If the relaunch is taking over a month then it must be pretty massive, normally they only take a few days.
Well it should be interesting anyway.
And more to the point... how did you actually get those pictures? I mean, not everyone is allowed to wander in an snap away, are you a snapper by trade?

The banks of TVs will be changed they don't look very modern.

I'm not a snapper - although I'm not bad!

How come you know so much SkyNews?

I presume you are either in 'the know' or have people at Sky News that tell you whats going on.

Talking of all the hype with the changeover to the new Sky News set, does anyone know what the BBC did to change from pre-corporate to the Corporate era? Was it a simple matter of Friday to MOnday and if so, what happened to the weekend bulletins?

I think it changed on a Monday.

Like many regional news programmes being built for the corporate look, they actually built it in another studio so bulletins could continue as normal, then on Monday the changeover was immediate.

So the old blue style virtual set where you could see the camera and lights hanging down at the end wasn't studio N& then? It did look a bit bigger but I had reckoned that was just effects. What is the former news studio used for now then? Does anyone have coverage of the last news on the old-style and was the new revamp mentioned at all?

The old BBC News studio (can't remember the name, someone will correct me) is now used for Liquid News on BBC Choice.

The current studio is in studio N6 which is a part of the extended news centre at TVC in White City.
