Not sure if this will be of any interest to anyone, but while browsing the 28 Days Later site (no relation to the film - it's sort of an exploration of various 'modern ruins'), I stumbled across a few discussion threads featuring images from inside former Central studios in Birmingham.

A quick web search also yielded these additional pics from Urban Exploration forums

Perhaps one of you kids will enjoy them; if not, I'm over it.

These have come up before, but ta for digging them up. Gives an interesting insight into what was left behind, love the ITN stickers on various doors.

No, that's made of stone.

The Blockbusters ikons were made of heat-moulded fibreglass or polystyrene if my memory serves me right.

And I imagine....or at least hope.... most if not all of them are preserved and/or stored somewhere.

Yes I saw them somewhere. Probably on here, actually.

That stone is off the front of the old Broad Street building, built in 1926, which Central used as its main reception.

The Blockbusters sculptures were hanging on display in the foyer of their studios in Nottingham.

ISTR they were auctioned off when Nottingham closed. (or possibly still hanging in a canteen in the complex, if another distant memory serves me right)

Additionally, the Brum studios were in tonight's episode of Hustle for quite a few scenes!

Central Broad Street was in this week's Hustle on BBC 1. Still making TV over 13 years after closure.

Bearing in mind there was one episode specifically set in Brum a few weeks ago, has anyone spotted 'Brumisnms' in other episodes set in London(but made in Birmingham!)?

I've spotted a National Express bus in the Michael Brandon episode & in the chase scene at the top of this week's episode, a glimpse of a Birmingham City Council car park sign.

(I realise it's unavoidable but it's a good game to play!)
