I'll phone Father Christmas if you keep on.

I ask my mate whether he saw My Parents Are Aliens/Byker Grove/Barking the day before quite a bit and i don't think he's even noticed how often i do it.

your true friends will accept you for who you, are not who they want you to be,

you find the internal workings of TV interesting, that's cool, so do I, just hear what the majority are saying and don't throw it in your friends expecting them to like it because you do.

last time I visited Manchester on a college trip I went round to granada studios for a peek at the Coronation street set whilst the others went shopping and when i told them where I'd been some of them were a bit envious I'd seen some filming and wished they come with me.

Good God nwtv2003, it's not underground Satanist goings-on you're participating in! Shocked Very Happy

I too would have been mildly obsessed with television presentation from a young age - probably 6 or 7 onwards. Obviously you don't go shouting it about - not so much because it's something to hide, but others simply aren't remotely interested.

Here in Ireland with a pond but 6-7% the size of yourselves there's even less opportunity to indulge in such an interest, also not helped by us not being a remotely visually inclined country, as also conveyed in architecture and urban design - even fewer people here care about what television looks like, hence the industry gets away with a lot, notably the national broadcaster. High quality content, but at times rock-bottom presentation Sad

Interesting points...I'd have to agree that it's not something I start a full-blown conversation about, although I may make a reference to an aspect of pres, if the topic of discussion allows for it.

For me, keeping track of idents/branding and such is an interest, albeit not my only one.

The more commonly shared interests are what I like to have a chat about, because more people are able to give their own input.

That is not really possible if I was to ask on someone's opinions or comparisons on idents of past and present, because for the many who don't follow that, they have nothing to contribute.

Lastly, I don't think TV Pres is a 'weird' or 'sad' interest. Such words are only fitting for people who get a kick out of things that are extremely perverse or morally wrong/harmful/attributed to complete nutcases.

TV Pres does not fit into such a category and I would simply term it a specialist interest.

I'd be somewhat surprised if it doesn't ever get (or hasn't already been) covered on a show like Mastermind.

How young are you? 8? The show was on CBBC regularly until around 2002, I can't believe you've never seen it.

I swear, I've never seen The Racoons.

for liking tv programmes that no-one has heard of or tv presentation no one cares about.

i was picked on for liking the raccoons in 2002. and before i left school i told my friends that i liked schools presentation and dr who.

im now at college and suprignsly i have no mates.

It's unfortunate that people should be forced into a life of solitude because of their interests, though I deliberately made little reference to my interest in Pres at school. Children can be so cruel, though still old enough to know better.

Why should someone who likes BBC1 globes/Doctor Who/whatever be judged by that and not on their personal qualities? Live and let live.

no it just seemed like it lasted for 400 years. it was the most tedious dreadful show in existance and everyone involved with it should have been killed.
