Sounds like you are more fortunately placed in a more accepting and tollerent environment than this guy, although it's clearly not rubbed off on you with that comment.

No, I just don't go round annoying the hell out of everybody inanely singing along to a TV theme that nobody really knows about or remembers.

Oh, the wonders of Aspergers!

Oh, how nasty you are. I imagine it's you who does all the picking on people from the content of your comments so far.

And what is The Raccons? Confused

The Raccoons was a cartoon from the eighties/nineties that was shown on the BBC (and internationally probably) during the childrens TV hours on the weekdays/weekends. I fondly remember watching it, along with Grange Hill and that Tony Hart programme amongst others.

I think many people who were born in the late eighties to mid nineties will remember watching this cartoon. If I recall correctly, it was on Saturday mornings along with Live and Kicking (remember that, with Zoe Ball and co?!?!). Anyway, I think I'm showing my age now - ah the halcyonic days of childhood. Oh I see, I still wouldn't go on about it to mates, that would just be sad.

You come across like a 10 year old.

In my experience, you don't alert people (on a large scale) to the fact you like things dearly hardly anyone else in the world does, as it's just going to single you out as some kind of saddo.

When I was last at school (2003), everyone was in their wrestling phase (chavvy school). I could have either said I liked the WWF, alerted them to the delights of a test card and it's very fine music, or sat at the back ignoring everyone and watching the clock. I did the latter for my own safety. For five years.

Very boring.

How young are you? 8? The show was on CBBC regularly until around 2002, I can't believe you've never seen it.

Boring, yes. But at least you aren't going to get picked on for it.

The way it seem benr is, it seems no suprise he's been picked on. Going up to your mates and asking them what they think of the new ITV Ident followed by a heartfelt rendition of the Racoons closing credits theme is only going to get them not wanting anything to do with you. I wouldn't do that, and I doubt most people here would.

Do what i did, and just get a job in Media to satisfy your media junkiness. You suddenly seem an intelligent employee when you talk about BBC Pips rather than a geek if you talk about it in the actual job for a legitimate reason. Laughing

Ok I looked at your first post and thought... Ok this seems fair enough. But this quoted comment is just irrelevent to TV presentation and to be honest I don't really want to hear about your personal life.

I thought this whole thread had little to do with TV presentation and all to do with his personal life which to be honest he can screw up how he wants, just don't come crying here and asking if anyone else is in his sinking boat just to keep it on-topic.

I'd echo what pratically everyone else says about it, for me it's something I keep to myself, my family know I visit sites like these, but they're okay about it, probably taking the each to their own approach about it.

It's something I never talk about with my friends, I try to mention TV as little as I can really, the only thing I would say is "Did you watch......last night?" and at the moment the best chance is The X Factor as a good conversation starter.

There are limits when talking about old kids shows, I don't see anything wrong with benr saying that maybe The Raccoons were okay at the time/when he was/still is young, but you don't go and say it's the best thing ever, you won't fit in the majority. For me and my friends if you talked about old kids shows, you'd probably mention Rainbow (duly because it has become more popular recently in terms of merchandise) and something more recent like SM:tv Live, but you don't do a saturday_morning and say its the best thing ITV have ever shown. Rolling Eyes

Take advice from whoever said it earlier, if you're 16/17 find yourself a job, done the world of good for me, I made more friends at work than what I did at college, but if you want to make a good first impression with your new friends, don't talk about TV unless they are.

I'll phone Father Christmas if you keep on.

I ask my mate whether he saw My Parents Are Aliens/Byker Grove/Barking the day before quite a bit and i don't think he's even noticed.
