Very nice and about 500 metres away from where I'm sitting (Heart) - you don't know Andy in WM Engineering do you?
Actually, thinking about it, will this be the area that the Midlands Today set will overlook? I was trying to work it out and it seems the most sensible.
Shame it ain't the Mill eh!

no, the midlands today set overlooks the "newsroom", with the canalside window beyond it. i don't think the view over the canal will be particularly visible from the MT studio as the entire length of the office lies between the MT window and the canalside window.
however the politics show midlands set is next to the canal window.

Don't think the BBC designed the building, they are merely one of a number of tennants.

Well done to BBC Brum for designing such a nice building

Impressed !
I went down there yesterday lunchtime between 115 & 2, to have a mooch.
Had a quick word with the bloke running the 'canteen' place, & I mentioned about Thursday's Danny Kelly Show(See the Midlands TV thread for more on this!) & how good it was, & he said Danny's a great guy etc, & took me over to the WM windo, where I could wave at Danny & he waved back!
Would've stopped longer, but the security guard turned the external speaker down, so you couldn't hear it !
(Saw Doolan & Chinnie too !)

That would be funny wouldn't it - we've got a new logo and everything!
Nah, sadly you can't see us from there! But you can see "ITV Central" in Gas Street though...
It is quite a nice building isn't it, although sadly the reverse angle view from the building you see in the photos is a proper mess at the moment. It's a building site for one of those horrid much-despised-in-birmingham 'city living' developments.
I wasn't actually a big fan of the Mailbox at first. It's a drafty old place with 'high-fashion, high-price' shops... but I'm slowly warming to it. Especially since they covered up the front with glass to stop the wind whistling through it!
One thing I'm sure of though from the views I've seen of BBC Birmingham so far, it's looking very good... shame they're knocking the Mill down though

If it is, do you think Heart will put a big ad on their wall?

IIRC I think they are giving us a sort of tour of the Mailbox on Points of View this Sunday... might be worth a watch!
