Phillip Schofield is to present non-stop for 24 hours for ITV's annual Text Santa campaign. No official press release from ITV yet, but it was confirmed on Twitter.

From the Mirror Online:

Quote:
Phillip Schofield is to broadcast for 24 hours non-stop to raise money for charity.

The TV presenter will host a number of shows starting with The Morning on December 1 and then doing a full day of hosting, minus toilet breaks, to generate cash for ITV's annual charity appeal Text Santa - and he is said to be "raring to go" for the challenge.

Earlier today Phillip text Andi Peters and said he was 'excited'.

The text read: "ITV wanted to find a new and different way to launch this year's Text Santa and they asked me if I wanted to film 24 hours, non-stop and broadcast.

"I took some persuading but as we get closer I'm getting more and more excited - text me again on the day at 4am and I'll tell you if it was a good idea. We've got a few things planned and one or two challenges. First and foremost I'm doing this for the charities."

The way it is described makes it sound similar to Chris Moyles' marathon show back in 2011 (as the article also compares it to), with Schofe appearing on each of ITV's normally scheduled programmes, although that may not be exactly the case.

He writes text messages to Andi Peters in the style of a PR writing a press release.

They'd have probably agreed to this before ITV okaying the broadcast. I have to say, I'm looking forward to it.

I'm wondering if it will be normal ITV daytime, with live input from Phillip or will it be a separate show? I'm sure he would be able to go from GMB in Studio 5, to Lorraine in 3 in the ad break, and then from This Morning to Loose Women during the ad break again

According to This Morning, his appearances will also be on ITV2 and ITV3 and sometimes on all three.

I'm wondering whether he will be participating in other TV shows or whether this will denote his own 24 hour show across all the channels not including This Morning.

From what I can make of it, Phiilip will be doing the main 'LIve' ITV Network shows, such as This Morning, Loose Women, ITV News, and GMB the following morning, and then other live stuff on the rest of the ITV channels.

Will Alan Titchmarsh or Paul O'Grady be on that date?

In a graphic that was used for GMB there was Alan Titchmarsh but not Paul O'Grady:

The segment online has the ITV News logo too. Interesting.

I do think he'll be doing every live show that ITV(1) will have. I think he's starting at 10.30am on 01/12 then going the full 24 hours, or so that what it appeared to sound like on This Morning...
