I reckon Simon is hiding Mr Robson in his store cupboard.

Channel hopping i noticed Five's report on the axing of Grange Hill. They used clips from YouTube of old Grange Hill episodes and actually put a caption saying "Pictures from YouTube".
How unbelievably lazy can you get? I work in a post secondary media school, and we fail students if they use YouTube videos in their video work, why the hell should actual professional news outfits be allowed to broadcast such low quality clips? It's hard to come up with an answer when students say "Why can't we use Youtube clips, they do it on TV"

Well try harder. That's what you're paid for.
Maybe its cheaper just to pay the clearance without paying for clips to be dubbed too.

Just in case anyone wanted to have a read, this is what i posted on the 'Have your Say' section about Grange Hill:
Quote:
The TV climate has changed, and Grange Hill clearly isn't designed for the CBBC model of today. CBBC and CITV used to cater for children up to 18 years of age fifteen or so years ago, but recently shows like Hollyoaks and Skins seem to be watched by teens more these days. It's a shame because i doubt we'll ever see a show that dealt with teen issues in quite the same way as 'Grange Hill' ever again. But I feel it was the right time for it to go. At least CBBC is still making some good stuff like 'Sarah Jane Adventures'. What the hell is ITV doing?

Not suprised that Grange Hill has been axed. Aiming it at 6-12 year olds was a bad idea. I think Grange Hill would have survived if they'd put it on BBC Switch so they'd have a teenage audience.
