Yeah, its purely business/profit orientated decisions. Take a look at ITV's profile for the past few years.

Anyway, there are far worse people on TV who don't even deserve to be there. Mainly people from reality shows turned presenters..or botherers.

I'm sure Greg has a lot of work lined up and this petition is not needed and is utterly pointless anyway.

If you don't support the petition or believe it is ill-advised then by all means say so.

However, would it be possible for people to reign-in their somewhat sneery comments directed - quite incorrectly - at Gregg himself.

There's really no need for it, and it is horrible to read.

Agreed, I can't believe the venom directed towards him, there's far worse people on TV.

However the poll will more or likely come to nothing, mainly as TV companies no longer listen to viewers, they do whatever they want regardless to popular opinion

I see a few people saying he's not fantastic or something special, but would hardly call that a huge amount of venom, given the sort of stick most people on TV get round here (then again, as has been pointed out before, I suppose most of those aren't on this forum). I'm sure Greggles is a little more thick-skinned than that either way.

If anything, the threads in general are becoming more of a risk. Seeing as every one now seems to descend into a row between those people who say he's great, and those who disagree (give it a page or so more of posts), one of these days the mods are going to put an outright ban on 'em. It's clearly already being used as good troll bait, as what are the odds of a genuine brand new one post member coming to TVF with a petition about him?

Saw one of his shows unfortunately once, absolute crap. Sure, the guy can giggle through an hour whilst acting the genial moneymaker general for ITV but nothing past that. I wouldn't want him on the screen again, although there are plenty more too.

But surely, whatever you think of these petitions (and I'll admit I'm of the opinion they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot), why then make some unpleasant comment about the person concerned? Would you do that in real life?
