I thought tonight's show was really weak compared to last week's. They seem to have adopted the Little Britain formula of establishing a set of original catchphrase-based characters/scenarios in show 1, then simply varying the delivery of those catchphrases every following week by increasing the level of absurdity. Or to put it another way, "milking the cow dry".
Not that I'm suggesting it's easy to come up with totally original material for every show.

It did worry me, after the initial Kitchen Gun sketch last week, that we then got Toilet Grenade, as that seemed to be an indication that he was going to stick to the same few sketches and slightly change them every episode, with no doubt the 'surprise' twist to them all in the final episode (of the 'Computer says yes!' Little Britain style).
I read a brilliant Radio Times letter once that said that the reason the Dead Parrot sketch is so well remembered is that they didn't follow it up with the Dead Dog sketch, the Dead Goldfish sketch...

I was hoping to see some different sketches in last night's show, but we're only in week 2 so there may be much more to come.
Loved his Al Pacino masterclass, and there is some inspired casting in the sketches - notably Bronagh Gallagher as Sharon Osbourne and Julia Deacon as James Bond's mother - both brilliant actresses who bring much more than is "necessary" to bring those sketches to life.
At the end of the day if it does turn out to be "Little Britain" in terms of repetitive sketches then at least I will enjoy all those fabulous performances.

Better than a proper episode IMO.
Who was playing who btw?
I recognised the Little Britain guys, but who were the others?

I thought the shopping channel sketch in which they said how rubbish everything was particularly hilarious.
Incidentally, if anyone's not seen his aforementioned Wogan impersonation, I can thoroughly recommend this nugget of YouTube gold.

I can't remember where or how I found that video, but I know I had to cut the end slightly before I posted it on YouTube because someone's name was on it. Meanwhile, here's the cast:

Su Pollard - Matt Lucas
Johnny Rotten - Martin Freeman
Ruth Madoc - David Walliams

Actually, it wasn't any of the comedy videos I don't think. The only things that kept getting removed were trailers for The Simpsons Movie, and stuff about Doctor Who. Other stuff seemed fine, so it shouldn't matter if I put them back up.
