Peter Marshall query?

Can you help me on this one. I've got a few pints of beer waiting for me if I'm right, however if I'm wrong, then I'll have to pay up.

I've had a bet with a friend of mine, who used to work for HTV many moons ago. I've said that Peter Marshall (ex-Thames and HTV West announcer) used to present programmes for HTV Wales. IIRC, he used to present an item called Scene at Six (which was an item on Wales at Six, that later evolved into the programme Primetime with Nichola Heywood Thomas) and a quiz show called something like Keeping Up With The Jones'. However my friend disagrees. I've looked through the tv presenentation sites on the net that include Peter Marshall and theres no mention of the above programmes. Can someone help settle this bet as I'm sure these programmes existed.

If I'm wrong, then I will buy the drinks, but I'm sure I'm right. If it was'nt Peter Marshall who did these programmes who was it. I'm 100% sure it was'nt Arfon Haines Davies, Dilwyn Young Jones and the rest of the HTV Cymru /Wales gang

Peter Marshall certainly did get around.

He was an announcer at Ulster Television in the 60s, and I think may also have been a radio announcer/newsreader for BBC Northern Ireland.

I also think he is the voice over guy on Today with Des and Mel (or am I mixing him up with someone else?).

Yes he did, claim your beers. No he isn't, the voice on Des and Mel is Peter Dickson.

Surprisingly, he now works for North West Tonight!

I think that might be another Peter Marshall? There are quite a few and they are all hard to keep track of....

Well he sounds like Thames's Peter Marshall!

I don't think the HTV and Miss World Peter Marshall is involved in television any more.

He might try to sell you a house, but that's about it.

I think the BBC North West variant of Peter Marshall is too young to be the Thames/HTV one!
