Clare is off sick. Apparantly a severe throat infection.
There is only one main studio and an area for the self-opt.
There is a Studio 2, but thats a radio drama studio. It's been mothballed for ages. That happened during the John Birt internal market era!
There will be a soft area in the minor changes, I presume the North of Westminster / Superleague set will be made smaller, or moved a little bit to the left.
For your interest, work has started at Radio Humberside for the sub opt. They are converting a radio studio and production area

Thanks for that - hope Clare gets better soon. She knows which programme she is presenting at least unlike, it seems, Penny Bustin who is harking back to her Look East days!
Any idea when the sub-opt will start broadcasting? And when Clare's last time on the main Look North will be (if she ever returns!).
I think Penny Bustin is definitely growing into the role - I wonder why Cathy Killick is not doing the presenting though. She had done more previously and also, if I remember rightly, was a reporter for the BBC in London for one summer in a break from Look North.

Personally, I prefer Penny to Cathy - Cathy doesn't seem right to be a presenter, somehow! Also, has Tanya Arnold left? I haven't seen her on for ages - I thought she was good at presenting the sports news. I remember her presenting with Peter Levy last year - and she was good! I think the most disastrous combination was Cathy Killick and Tom Ingall - they only presented once, I think it was, last summer! Maybe they should give Ian White a go at presenting the main programme - it would be interesting to see how much personality he's got!
Ian White can sometimes makes some amusing comments on the 3:25 bulletin and the 10:25 one.
I think he would be good on the main programme. They should give him a go!

Don't you think you are giving too much away 'InTune'?

No, surely he isn't!!
Ian White should be given a go at the main bulletin - sure he'd be good as he seems pretty good on the Ten O'Clock.
As for Tanya Arnold, she's still on maternity leave I think - although it must have been ages ago that she went. She had a baby with Derm Tanner, I think, the BBC Radio Leeds Sports presenter who often does sport reports on Look North.
Well Penny was a great presenter with Stewart White at Look East. They were a really good on-screen team - serious when it was warranted, light and great at banter when they felt it appropriate. (If Penny ever presented Look North with Ian White that would be interesting - I think Ian was a researcher at Look East when Penny was presenting!)
As for regional news studios... (Slightly off topic) The current Look East set totally fills the studio floor in the main studio area. They don't have anything in the main studio apart from a news desk/projector screen + plasmas and a weather CSO position. No Sports set, no sofa/soft area.
There is a soft set for the East at Westminster (I don't know if this is used in the main Look East show) in the 'Annexe' studio - which is not strictly speaking a separate studio, but a smaller area reached through a large archway.
I believe Look East in Norwich currently have the smallest regional studio floor area of any full region. It was going to be extended into the car park in the early 90s - just after Plymouth and Southampton got revamps. I think that they had even started digging foundations when it was cancelled. Now they are moving out to the new Library - and I bet they get an even smaller studio than they have now!
