I'm surprised the Comedy Shuffle concept hasn't been expanded for other comedians or shows.
Even for someone like myself who likes Peter Kay and his material, this is a mickey take now. Fair enough doing Comedy Shuffle as a one off or one series, but a fifth series?!?
I know new shows are a bit thin on the ground this year, but I’d rather see a repeat of another sitcom or comedy than Comedy Shuffle again.

Some commissioners, seemingly...
Does Peter Kay have a bigger fan than Peter Kay?

Considering he is seemingly so protective over his early content being repeated all "Comedy Shuffle" does is further damage his legacy. Used to think he was brilliant but the constant rehashing of his material in different formats, firstly in the DVD market and now on TV, has just really put me off him. If he'd made Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy available during lockdown I'd probably have watched it in full, but I've no interest in a series of his best bits not good enough for the first four series of best bits.

That’s why it’s now his “Stand Up shuffle”
So they can show his stand up routines that have already been shown on “Comedy Shuffle”
Regarding his stand up, is there even much to shuffle? Has he not just done basically 3 tours. I know one year he released an all new DVD that was basically just a different venue on the same tour as last year’s DVD.

I mean what could possibly be left to unearth? The last series already included a lengthy interview from an ITV Jonathan Ross show

I notice they seem to be heavily trailing this brand new series as if its a massive new show
"For the first time ever, highlights of all of Peter Kay's stand up" or something along those lines is how its described
I think it seems to be pretty much the programme trailed on the highest rotation at the moment, I've seen it more than adverts for the return of EastEnders

Yes, I've seen it trailed a few times. Would much rather they just showed a series of his stand up routines in full, especially as often a stand up show will have a gag running through it, or something that becomes particularly funny an hour into the show because of something said 10 minutes into the show.

Couldn't Peter, you know, actually make something new? But seeing as he's spent years rehashing his old material on prime time BBC1 and presumably making plenty of money from it, he doesn't need to put the effort in.

I doubt his health is great going by his appearance on "The Big Night in"
