A 5th series of Peter Kay's Comedy Shuffle is starting next week.

This latest series is focusing on his stand up, a lot of which has actually been featured in previous series.

I wonder how many series they'll end up doing. They were starting to scrape the barrel a bit with the last series. I doubt this will be the last series we'll see, now that it's effectively gone back to series 1 as a different format.

COMEDY: Peter Kay's Stand-Up Comedy Shuffle
On: BBC One South
Date: Friday 4th September 2020 (starting in 7 days)
Time: 21:00 to 21:30 (30 minutes long)

Bolton's funniest stand-up comedian relives his finest career moments from the last 25 years.
(Widescreen, Subtitles, New Series, Series 1, Episode 1)

Starring: Peter Kay

Never before has so little material been rehashed so many times.

How long before ITV sign him up and show his back catalogue in a different order on a third channel?

I think there are more episodes of the "shuffle" brand than That Peter Kay Thing, Pheonix Nights and Max and Paddy put together which is sort of impressive if it wasn't so depressing, especially on the BBC

God not another one.

Seriously, the repeats the BBC were showing during lockdown were decent choices (Outnumbered, Car Share, My Family), but now we’re back to the Comedy Shuffle and Mrs Browns Boys repeats.

As well as that, on the date this starts, they have a Garden Rescue repeat in primetime. The barrel is well and truly being scraped.

Even for someone like myself who likes Peter Kay and his material, this is a mickey take now. Fair enough doing Comedy Shuffle as a one off or one series, but a fifth series?!?

I know new shows are a bit thin on the ground this year, but I’d rather see a repeat of another sitcom or comedy than Comedy Shuffle again.

I thought the last series was pretty thin on material, they'd run out of good stuff resorting to the crap Max and Paddy fitness DVD parody thing. God knows what this one'll be like.

Bloody hell - thought they were taking the piss a bit with the first series, never mind the 5th.

People give off that it is a rehash of old material on prime time BBC One but it is getting good ratings so while people are watching it will keep getting commissioned.

The theme tune is a perfect fit at least

Over and over and over again
Over and over
And over again!

How can there be a 5th series? He'd run out of material by the second...

One episode of the last series featured near enough his entire appearance on Who wants to be a Millionaire

The show itself is an expanded rehash of 'Peter Kay's Top 43 Greatest Comedy Moments' from Channel 4's Peter Kay Night in 2011 (which featured ITV Chart Show style graphics between the clips)
