That was Channel 4's Bank Holiday schedule sorted then. Just put on most of the extras featured on Peter's DVDs.

Saying that, it was great to watch, especially Peter's side-glances to camera during the documentary and the interview with the guy from hospital radio. Also. I liked his quick quip about him 'apparently' trying to be poached by ITV Laughing - those Max and Paddy links must have been filmed fairly recently.

I hope he doesn't go to ITV - they're just getting desperate because they lost Paul O'Grady (pathetic).

Channel 4 is the place for Peter Kay and always will be.

It's strange, I'd always felt Peter Kay was more of an ITV person.

Had seen every single bit of it on the DVD's (par max & paddy's links) Rolling Eyes Whatever happened to a rumour I once heard about him playing Ronnie Barker in a bio-movie??

It's another disappointing fall for CH4 (IMO). The once innovative pioneering channel is now airing DVD extras Rolling Eyes

The Max & Paddy bits were good though, funnier then the series!. "Michael Barrymore...he kills me"

I didn't even tune into the Night's programmes, due to the fact I've seen them all before and (been rather foolish) have them all on DVD.

The guy is very funny and there's no denying that, but when was the last time he came up with really new material, everything is just running gags and catchphrases we've heard about 100 times by now, even the Manchester DVD was crap, it was the Bolton DVD again, but with an Extra.

I was quite disappointed to see that there was nothing new with this Theme night last night, usually they put the effort in, even if it's a new documentary.

Anyway, I watched Dave Spikey on Bullseye last night, that was worth watching.

That's the problem with Peter Kay - he has started to believe his own publicity. He is a funny guy, but can't just live on his reputation - he needs to do something new and good (i.e. not Max & Paddy).

It's rather telling that Max and Paddy was vastly inferior to Pheonix Nights which was a team writing effort

I heard somewhere that Peter didn't want to do stand-up anymore (hence the lack of material) and is going to stick to writing instead. I think he should take a break from Max and Paddy though.

That Peter Kay Thing and Phoenix Nights were the geniuses of Peter Kay, Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice. Max and Paddy was just Peter Kay and Patrick McGuinness, and that just relied on silly gags, nothing rather clever about it. Though PK's next project looks promising, as I believe it is going to be new, in that sense anyway.

I thought it was a shame Dead Man Weds failed, that wasn't LOL funny, but it was good for DS's first single effort and for an ITV comedy.
