Im surprised no one has pick up on this, From tonight at 9pm the whole series will be available to view on the BBC Iplayer. Its the first time the BBC has done something like this ie copied the likes of House of cards etc.

ITV did this a while ago with some ITV2 comedy show, can't remember the name.

Are you sure this is the first time the BBC have done this?

Thats what the BBC are saying. This has be in the context of a FULL series, and not the First episode appear a few days in advance.

It's hardly the BBC "joining the leagues of Netflix" - whatever that means. They've got one mini series on the iPlayer. Big whoop.

Completely disagree. Premiering a whole series of a BBC One sitcom on the iPlayer, moving BBC Three online, as well as the planned myBBC service seems like they are heading in part to a Netflix style future for the iPlayer. Offering personalised content rather than just being a catch up service.

An interesting aspect of this is that the series is only going to be online for a few days, with it being taken down this Tuesday. Also this series was announced about two years ago, including that it would debut on iPlayer, so what's taken so long?

Agree it's really odd they're only putting it on for 4 or 5 days before playing it out as normal. If TV really wants to go down this route surely the best approach is to premiere the first episode on TV then make the rest of the series available online immediately after that.
