I actually cant wait to watch tonights final episode about ITV/ITN news over the past 50yrs. I just hope we dont get an hour of 'memorable' stories of the past 5 decades (like what happened last year with the BBC), more backslpping by saying 'ITV News is better then it has ever been bla bla bla and an extended tribute to how fabulous Sir Trev is. Hopefully we'll see a shred of honesty from the series by admitting the mistakes of axing News At Ten and the slashing of the news budget in 2001 to fight of a bid by the Sky consortium.
I personally don't think Sir Trev is all that great. Yes, he's been in the business for a long time and conducted important interviews but to me he is the most boring newscaster!
Anyway, we'll wait and see what tonight's show brings....hopefully interviews with more newsreaders such as Rippon, Owen and Hossain(I wish).
It's been quie interesting so far, a fair bit of World In Action, ITN and what have you. I've also never seen that Frost clip before which was quite powerful really and interesting.
Edit: They mentioned the whole This Week / Death On The Rock scandal, though you learn something new each time you watch it, that Roger (Right To Reply) Bolton was responsible for that programme, but he was right, they had to touch the subject. Though I never knew the problem was more serious and more than Thames losing its licence.
