I agree, it was a great programme. Well done ITV1.

It was a nice attempt and similar on style to last weeks Excess in the City. I thought they were both a little lightweight and had far too many spurious shots of 'robberies' [lorry doors being closed etc], generally a little OTT.

That said, it is a fairly brave move from ITV to be commissioning this sort of programme and as a result should probably be welcomed. Although in terms of quality I found last night's "Should I Really Give Up Flying" on BBC 2, to be far more compelling.

The programme only managed an 11% share, 3rd place behind BBC1 and Channel 4

As Media Guardian points out, showing such a programme gained ITV critical plaudits, but that's no good when advertising revenue is based on ratings

Depends on demographic. Advertisers are a little more selective than the headline numbers, it's also about who's watching your programme.

When BBC One are showing a popular drama, and C4 showing Big Brother, why shouldn't they put out a documentary to pick up a different sector of the audience ? Especially in a slot they were unlikely to dominate anyway.

I think it's a positive direction for ITV to be taking to offer a wider breadth of programming, which in the long run, may bring different types of audience and advertisers to the channel.

A very positive move by ITV and does back-up the idea of PSB - which ITV should engage rather than trying to get rid of!!!

I suppose they could do many more like this -
Where has our NHS gone?
Where have all the Physics teachers gone?
Where have British Airways gone? (a quick look out to the tarmac.. all is revealed)....

And for a nice jolly festive programme at the end of this year...
Where has Tony Blair gone?

So I suppose you would recommend they show extra episodes of the soaps or reality tv in its place then? Wink
