Well what could they do for a schedule revamp - they wont move Corrie, they wont move Emmerdale, they wont move the news and there will always be the same sort of stuff on at 8pm and 9pm.
They've launched ITV Day, as it is probably the part of the schedule has lost the most viewers within the last few years. One of the promises of the Granada/Carlton merger was that alot of the saved money would be reinvested into Daytime.
The morning schedule still does reasonably well in the ratings, it's after 1.00pm when they lose most of the viewers.
If anything ITV in the afternoons is better now than what it once was, as we used to get imports, some good, some bad or even really boring Movies.
I think they could launch ITV DAY on ITV 2/3/4 as ITV DAY on 2, ITV DAY on 3 and ITV DAY on 4.
As for the logo, the ITV DAY on 2 could be recoloured three shades of yellow (as the 2 is at present on yellow), ITV DAY on 3 could be recoloured three shades of light blue (as the 3 is at present on pale blue). ITV DAY on 4 would be coloured depending on the normal 4 logo.
Hopefully this is the way ITV are going and quite soon we'll be seeing a shake-up of the peak time schedule (with new idents). It's funny that the can make some decent idents for ITV DAY, but in the evening we have clouds and ribbons. Oh joy!
ITV daytime has haemorraged viewers since they lost Home & Away to Channel 5, and they haven't been helped by the subsequent disaster that was Crossroads.
It needed sorting out... and I think they've done it now.
How about this as a thought... ITV rebrands their evening viewing as ITV Prime. Imagine darker colours used etc. Which just got me thinking, didn't Sky One do sommat similar with a Sky One Primetime in the mid 90's when they used the gravestones has their idents?

But when would 'ITV1', the brand theyve been trying to push for 4 years now be seen? early mornings before GMTV and after the 10.30 news? If what youve said is the direction ITV are thinking of going in, wont they be admitting that the ITV1 brand has been a failure, and perhaps theyll just drop the 1 and revert back to 'ITV' as being the unifying brand of the channel? I still think it would have made more sense to call this 'ITV1 Day' then you could have 'ITV1 primetime' which would make more sense, and keep the branding more coherent
