One thing I don't understand is how do the adverts not cut off some of the headlines from BBC World News? The titles are only 12 seconds but the adverts in place of the titles are a lot longer.

What do you mean? There's nothing in place of the titles. The countdown is just early and they put all that rubbish between the end of the countdown and the start of the TOTH.

Ah I see. I thought the countdown was broadcast at the correct time. It makes sense now!

It's strange they don't integrate all the sponsorship rubbish into the countdown time and have a cleaner ident playing into the news.

It's not exactly what you'd call slick is It?

It's also worth a slight mention that KCET is no longer affiliated to PBS..

Yeah, KOCE came and took it over after KCET left PBS.

Ones of the top of my head.

This Old House
New Yankee Workshop

I loved Bob Vila's shows (I know he left and did another show), so I would watch these.

You'll find This Old House on Discovery Real Time and New Yankee Workshop on Discovery Shed.

What will PBS show in the UK.
Hope it will have the same sponsorship idents before each program like in the U.S

Is that a financially viable option? Plus they are not idents.

PBS UK to me seems like its going to be like Discovery of old in the time before American Chopper, Deadliest Catch or Mythbusters infiltrated the schedule.

Not a chance. Not only are they not relevant over here but also they don't fit in with the rules

I understand that it is not part of the rules but this would be much better altetnative than an £145 license fee which goes solely to the BBC.

What are you on about?

PBS UK is purely a (hopefully) for profit operation.
