I loved Bob Vila's shows (I know he left and did another show), so I would watch these.

So is this channel going to be FTA or is it going to be included in one of these new Sky packs?

Press are saying Entertainment, how are these new packs going to be laid out?

From what I can understand the new packs will be something like this...

Entertainment = Variety, Style and Culture
Entertainment Extra = Variety, Style and Culture, Children's, Knowledge, Music, News and Events

Anyone guess what EPG number PBS will get?? There are not that many (if any) decent numbers left?? If its too far down or at the end, EPG 229 it will flop!

Sony TV got the last decent slot on EPG 157, wonder what others could be bought out??

Information TV on 166? With Information TV moving to its +1 on 189?

Also thanks Gaz for the pack explanation.

There's nothing on 131 anyway, well not in Scotland anyway. Don't know about the rest of the UK mind you.

ITV1+1 elsewhere.

Anyway, it's not just a case of finding a spare number. New channels have to replace old channels for the moment because older Sky boxes apparently can't cope with any additional channels so Sky have put a stop to allowing additional channels to appear on the EPG.

PBS specializes in documentaries, factual programming, and educational children's programming. Unlike the BBC, which provides a full service, PBS is meant to focus primarily on genres underserved by commercial TV.

Her is a profile of PBS's prestigious NewsHour , which, I imagine, will air on PBS UK:

I don't understand the negativity here... It's a new channel bringing quality programming in currently underserved genres.

PBS produces lots of quality programming. I watch Washington Week more or less every week, and think it is one of the best American "sunday morning shows" (although it is broadcast on a Friday evening). The PBS Newshour and Frontline are also great ways to fill time.

Overall, I think people should get more exposure to thoughtful programmes produced by public broadcasters in other countries.
