It is the original Guess the Tune music from the ITV1 show yes.

I believe it was a song by Gracie Fields originally (the tune he used on ITV). For the previous series of POG on C4, I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside was used. For some reason C4 have reverted back to the Gracie Fields tune Confused

Nice to see Buster back after his operation!

It's a shame Cilla couldn't do all the 'guest slots', given POG's character is similar to hers.

Jesse Metcalf has appeared on the show a few times, and seemed to popular for some reason Confused

Anyway, here's something. According to The Irish Times the other day, Paul O'Grady is going to host a revival of Opportunity Knocks. It wasn't a news item, it was just mentioned in passing - but where have they got that idea from? Is there any truth in it whatsoever?

That's old news. Until he defected to CH4 he was due to host the British version of "America's Got Talent" on ITV. Reports last week were claiming Noel Edmond's is now in talks with Simon Cowell (the producer).

What's your opinion of all these regulars that Paul has on his show, Big Dave, Big Rita, the twins, various kids etc

I can't be doing with most of them myself, most of their reports are only there to fill a few minutes

Asking someone old enough who recalls Gracie, they said the song is 'Sing As We Go.'

Which would make sense.

Not really interested in all the 'added' parts to the O'Grady show, they'd be better off giving more time to the guests than faffing around with the inserted VT features.

Monty Python's version was better (it wasn't one of their finest musical moments, but it was still better).

The guest presenters are confirmed

Monday 23rd October - The one and only Vernon Kay
Tuesday 24th October - The one and only Cilla Black
Wednesday 25th October - The one and only Lorraine Kelly
Thursday 26th October - The one and only Jesse Metcalfe
Friday 27th Octiber - The one and only Alan Titchmarsh

I'll eat my words then!

What's the betting one of these ends up being signed up to host a rival show on ITV1?

It would have made more sense to give it to Cilla for the week really.

And as for Jesse Metcalfe - I thought he had several movies lined up! Laughing Somehow I see him more on Celebrity Big Brother than in a hit Hollywood blockbuster!

Agree alot of the regular guests are pointless. Some make more of a contribution than others, but I think they'd be better off just using different viewers for the different segments each week.

Considering the show is made by Olga TV, it's surprising that the show is still has an identical running order to practically the first episode of the old ITV1 series

For a start he should have a longer postbag section so no more 'Ok I'm coming, look at Bert there waving his hands around like windy miller', maybe time for Paul to review some of today's tabloid stories

More time for the "£2000 Organ Game", "what? no more callers?"

And some time for some e-mails "Time for some e-mails, [music starts playing] what is that it?"

The viewing figures aren't as good as they were at one time so the show will need a bit of a revision at some point

the only thing there could do it reduce the amout of time for the guest,

I think there need a Longer period, like an Extre 5 - 10min

Do we think C4 might be very interested in how the daytime audience react to Alan Titchmarsh?

Funny thing is didn't Cilla once have her own entertainment show on ITV many decades ago (I was either too young or wasn't born when it aired). So if she is good I can actually imagine ITV trying to entice her back to do a chat show and/or even revive the sickl;y but damn good Surprise! Surprise! (a type of entertainment show not presntly on any TV network but does surprising bring in viewers!!)
