When PoG was on last time the only competiton it had The Weakest Link, a short lived ITV show or Neighbours, now the 5-6pm is dominated by The Chase and Pointless, both often draw in a good 3 million or so on a daily basis, I think although Paul returning is good, it may work better at 3pm where Alan Titchmarch's show is, I can't imgaine the audience for that slot being too dissimilar. Having an all afternoon BBC1 schedule now has really upped the game for ITV and Channel 4, and if its anything to go by C4 is taking a right battering at the moment.

Well if he's returning to 5pm on ITV, The Chase competing is going to be a non-existent problem. Also, ITV+1 might help the situation now.

He was up in Yorkshire, mining just a month ago! Wonder if that's part of it

Afternoon BBC1 schedule is just dire, and has little effort in it. Since January many hoped for improvements its not forth coming

I agree that having the chase all year round would be a good move , but then it's better to have repeats of old episodes of the chase rather than Paul O'grady. (imo)

But there is nothing wrong with tipping point , maybe a sunday night would be better? Smile

Well they have commissioned it so I it should be. They are probably just developing new segments for the show and stuff.

The chase comes back I think in a few weeks times, so where would it get slotted in? October?

Not sure who you are agreeing with but most people agree that in the long term resting daytime formats for a few weeks is better than just sticking them in the slot all year and padding it out with repeats. I'm surprised though ITV didn't put Chase repeats at 4pm while the Twisters took the 5pm slot - IIRC that's what they did last year when Tipping Point launched.

Well you can't let The Chase have a rest and put it on at 4pm, can you?
