The Paul O' Grady Show is returning to our screens later this year back on ITV.

How they're describing it sounds like pretty much exactly what The Paul O' Grady Show used to be like in as many words but will probably be called something different this time around I'd imagine.

I found it did get extremely tired on Channel 4 so I'm hoping with it back on ITV that they keep it fresh and interesting, something they're usually pretty good at.

I'm surprised about this given only a few months ago he stated (the reason he stopped the Friday night show) he couldn't be bothered any more as he hated hearing about what other celebrities were up to and having to promote something all the time. Mind you, he said Lily was dead and buried and she comes back for Panto every year.

I heard a while ago it was due to return from POG in various interviews.

I always preferred Richard & Judy as I thought it was a programme that was simply more interesting. So I always found it odd you had this chat show that was quite newsy and factual for 3 months then 3 months of Paul O'Grady which was just traditional light entertainment, when he joined Channel 4. I didn't mind POG it dragged a bit though so the shorter series should suit it. I wish Paul good luck in this new venture.

I can only imagine that this is coming off the success of For The Love of Dogs. It's a tad hypocritical to complain about guests plugging things, and then come back to do the same thing. Having said that, I don't object to this show returning. I'd have nothing to watch around teatime if it wasn't for The Chase.

So that'll mean The Chase will get bumped down to 4pm I'm guessing then? That seems to be the only daytime gameshow that seems to do quite well at 5pm...

Itv order another 150 episodes of the chase so I get he feeling Paul will take up some of other 10weeks.

I'm surprised they're not going for year round Chase at 5 given how well it rates.

Pointless is doing fine - the battle between them in terms of ratings still picks up at times.

Yes - ITV have ordered 150 episodes for between 2013-2014, and another 150 for between 2014-2015. That only equals 60 weeks of new episodes between 2013-2015, so I think 5 weeks of Paul O'Grady shouldn't be hard to squeeze in between series, replacing 5 weeks of repeats - they managed to do it with Tipping Point's first series.

I think another 5 week run of Paul will appear with repeats of the chase at 4pm. Tipping point is crap.

Tipping Point is awful, so of course ITV have commissioned 12 primetime celebrity editions.

Paul O'Grady's return might be short lived - although it did well for both ITV and C4 I can't see it matching what The Chase (even for repeats) gets in the ratings now, although I agree it's much better to take The Chase out of the schedule periodically to give new shows a chance rather than air it all year round.

I know Tipping Point is bloody awful, but I think that if they can sacrifice The Chase repeats for that tripe, they should manage it with something good.
