Oh dear, ITV really have lost it.

To be fair, Olga has been tweeting since 1st September 2009. It just appears to be O'Grady's twitter feed, used to promote his shows.

And, indeed there was a link on the C4 website : http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/P/paulogrady/

I'd imagine ITV put it as Olga to give it a personal touch, as they can't really create an account and call it Paul O'Grady when it isn't him tweeting

Went to the pilot tonight. Think of it as the C4 show with a bit more risque material from Paul and a larger set.

No nodding Olga's though. Once they've tweaked it a bit, I can't see it not performing well in the 9pm slot.

Is the set good in your opinion - similar but bigger than the C4 set?:

Only just seen this reply, so apologies.

The interview area is more like a drawing room at a mansion than the last C4 set. As you'll see on Friday, there are two main areas, interview and stage with stairs in the centre. The stage area is much larger for artists and the competitions/games which will be held.

During the pilot, they experimented with a new interactive element to the format, it may go into the main show on Friday, but it was besiged with technical problems which may not make the final cut.

haha no worrys!

Sounds good then!

On the last bit - was it something like the audience intracting via Skype? I'm sure I read that there would be something like that or mabye i'm gettting it confused with something else?

Just to add - there are definitely different versions of the promo with STV and UTV sung in them instead of ITV as I've seen them! Whether they're using them is a different matter, would be a bit odd to go to that effort and then use the ITV version.

You're right! They've even dubbed the opening line with a Scottish accent.

Jings!

Very nice touch. I'll reward them by giving it a watch.

It was Skype and nothing short of a disaster. The majority of links to the Skype user either had no audio or the video went blank.

It was funny to watch as an audience member, but if that happened every week, it looks shoddy.

Like I said I thought it was - as I read about it somewere. Hope they do get red of it. On all shows I think having Skype doesn't add anything. You just get audio and video not matching up half the time and freezing. If they really want viwer interaction, then can't a telephone suffice? Laughing

Except it can work really well. Oprah has used it on her show in the last year (I caught a random episode on Diva.. yikes), and I was really impressed.

They had about 8, maybe more, contributors to a debate being back projected into panels in her set - and even via Skype the pictures looked good and the sound was adequate.

I expect there was a certain amount of editing in post to make it so seamless, but they did cut to a shot of their comms area in a commercial and there were an array of monitors with the Skype contributors lined up.

Just struck me as a great way to have so many outside sources to a show without being very expensive at all.
