I personally would like to see him in a Ross timeslot, post watershed, taking on whoever replaces him on the Beeb. Giving him a One Show slot isn't going to be any different to the previous two slots he's had.

Where on earth has this notion come from it's going to be a current affairs show. It's be a chat show - simply. Indeed whatever that article suggests is pretty much made up when the only fact they state is that no discussions have yet been made on the format of the show. It's Paul O'Grady though - he doesn't do change!
And I believe Paul doesn't wear an ear-piece.
Yeah, not sure how Paul would fit-in to a semi current affairs-ish programme. Especially when recalling that The One Show itself was billed as a semi current affairs/magazine/entertainment programme, loosely based along the lines of Nationwide.

The series proper appears to be going out on Friday nights live from 10th September. I'm guessing a 9pm start as doors open at 8pm.

There's a good question.... POG did that as Lily, and as we know Lily has now retired to a convent in Brittany with Bet Lynch. I wonder if Paul would be willing to do it as himself? I think Talkback Thames holds the rights to the show?
