The Paul O' Grady Show

From the first break it went to black then a still ITV1 ident with piano music for about a minute and a bit then back into the show.

What happened? No explination afterwards except he called it a 'nice, long break'.

Did it only happen in Leeds controlled regions?

STV and Grampian had a slide, Channel was showing a promo for Meridian Tonight when I tuned in (so I assume the problem was at Leeds). Tyne Tees North had the ITV1 Ribbons Slide. UTV was showing The Planet's Funniest Animals (worse than a breakdown slide).

Think it was on for a bit longer than 1 minute though.

It certainly happened in the Granada Manchester region.

Looks like a minor breakdown during the last ad break. In so much as there was a very long hold at the end of the 3rd quarter with the 'Paul O'Grady show' caption (animated) showing for about 10 seconds. Then at the start of the final quarter there was no post-break sequence, with it just cutting straight into the next feature. I'm guessing that in the studio they were going on the length of the advert break and weren't counting on delay in the ad break start.

I didn't have a problem here.. South-East

On ITV1 Wales, at the end of the first ad-break we had a still shot of an empty ITV Wales News studio, with a logo on the main projector screen (It began with an S - Sagem?). This lasted for about 2 seconds, before the screen went black. It stayed with the black screen for about 10 seconds, before the Paul O'Grady titles played as normal.

did anyone capture the empty ITV WALES NEWS studio?

tried but it went off so quickly
