Challenge have put on Twitter that they are trying to slot episodes of wipeout into the schedules...

Sunday afternoon, along with a Celebrity Blockbusters and a few Blankety Blanks he guested on.

Celebrity Squares.

Should have quoted my source

No Celebrity Squares according to that. Probably just down to what they already have rights for.

I doubt we will ever see Every second counts, Challange have continue to refuse it because it looks so dated, even the episodes from the early 90s.

At one time Challenge would have reveled in it looking dated.

RIP Paul Daniels. I wonder if Stephen Mulhern will do a tribute to him?

They'd better hurry and bury him then, so he can turn in his grave.

Well Paul Daniels (along with the lovely Debbie Magee, of course) was quite happy to do a long interview about his career, with Stephen Mulhern just last year for ITV's The Magic Show Story . Hence I don't think a tribute from Stephen Mulhern would be such an abomination for him (if ITV were to do such a tribute)

Certainly Paul Daniels was the master-- though I've seen Stephen Mulhern do two different (and equally impressive) magic shows on stage recently-- he's entertaining and pretty damn good at live magic himself. He's also great at working an audience, gracious with participants; plus I've met numerous telly/showbiz types over the year for various reasons, I must say that he is the nicest I've met.

I think any tribute should surely come from the BBC. Stephen Mulheron is far too much of an ITV face to front it. A big studio tribute show from ITV would feel odd given that Paul was such a BBC figure.

Mulhern's magic abilities have very much taken a back seat over the years behind his presenting work, to the point where I think a lot of people don't know he was a magician. Having him front something would just look like something else ITV want to give him to boost his profile.

As people have said, he's far more of a BBC face than an ITV one. I think it'd be far more suitable for the Beeb to do something. Hopefully they won't just opt for a Louis Theroux repeat or something.

Going through some VCR tapes this week and found some editions of Ministry of Mayhem from 2005 & on most of them they'd have Stephen do some magic as a pre-break teaser with Queen playing in the background. Of course his magic would get mocked by his co-stars when he wasn't on camera.

Ah yes, I remember. I think the only magic he does on telly these days, is during Big Star's Little Star (bar the repeats of Tricky TV on CITV)

Fair point. Did Paul Daniels have any programmes on ITV?

Quite a bit. Debut on Opportunity Knocks. First regular TV gig on a Granada Bernard Manning Vehicle called The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club. Then there was an ITV show called Paul Daniels Blackpool Bonanza. ITV shows after that were mainly guest spots on things like All Star Mr & Mrs and X Factor Battle of the Stars. Oh and of course he appeared in two advertising campaigns between the programmes themselves, for TescoCompare and Heineken.

If only there were an online editable encyclopaedia where all this information would be readily available for someone to read......
