I do miss the summer without Passport to the Sun. I went to Majorca about 2 years ago and met two of the 'subjects' Dave and 'his wife(?)' from series 2 working in cabaret for Thomson Gold!

I brought this up a couple of months ago. Apparently there was a mention in the Radio Times stating that the producers decided the show had run it's course and that no more episodes would be made.
A similar show aired in January, featuring families who had moved or planned to move abroad. It was still presented by Nadia Sawalha and featured quite a few old clips from Passport to the Sun.
Unfortunately, it wasn't all that good, and only seemed to last a few weeks, compaired to PTTS's 8 week-run. The format just wasn't as good, where as Passport was still a great, enjoyable format and the show was apparently still performing well in the ratings.

I must agrre that Passport To The Sun was ace.
Living In The Sun was it's replacement made by Riccochet Productions. Last summer they made 20 x 1 hour shows which aired in January this year and at the moment they are abroad making 10 x 1 hour shows to be aired in January 2006.
BBC2 aired repeats of the show not so long ago.
You never know - Sky Travel on freeview may air repeats of Passport To The Sun - Hope they do.
