It used to be a good channel, and to extent it still is (well Paramount 2 mainly for the old UK stuff), but they seem to have dropped programmes like Seinfeld and Cheers (that's on FX now), which they used to run on a regular basis even though the audiences weren't huge.

ISTR at one point they even had a Channel 4 on Paramount strand as they had alot their shows on the channel, such as Father Ted, Whose Line and Drop the Dead Donkey.

Good to see they're adopting the Comedy Central name, but other than Stewart, Colbert and South Park is there anything else decent they make that isn't over here?

Not really, when I've been over there I've only really watched it for those 3 shows, there's quite a lot of stand up on it. Although I think Sarah Silverman's show is on Comedy Central

They did, I remember a special ident which would flicker from the Paramount logo to the old 4 logo from the squares era. This was when on cable it would timeshare with Nickelodeon, which would close down at 7pm and Paramount would take over.

I suppose this naming could work...the old name's been around for a while but it hasn't stuck in the public's mind as something like 'UK Gold', which people still say despite it being renamed five years ago.
