I'm sure I'm the only one but I'm kind of enjoying Jon's useless comments on the governments and financial situations of the lesser known countries of the earth! Very Happy

They've cut the flag parade to speak to Claire outside. Are they deliberately trying to get people to complain? You'd think after the NBCFail storm that C4 might take some note.

It's Claire Balding - it's allowed.

Krishnan wasn't brilliant but after 20 minutes of Jon Snow linking every country to war I'd be happy to have him back now. Heck, I'd even be happy to have Edwards and Nelson!

I'm actually enjoying it a lot more now they've ditched Krishnan. Jon isn't great, but at least Jonathan and Ade are providing some interesting insight and comments.

Bring back Trevor Nelson!

Ha ha! But seriously, Huw and Hazel were a hundred times better than this! This is a great ad for BBC SPORT.

Nice to see Channel 4 doing their best to show us all how much we love the BBC at times like this. #paralympicsopening

By being 'alternative', Channel 4 missed a trick by not doing a further simulcast (whether red button/E4 or whatever) to get one of their comedians to do a Eurovision style commentary. Would've provided some entertainment, especially during this bit.

Lots of people on Twitter seem surprised that a commercial TV company would show commercials.

I'm surprised they are showing them so frequently, I thought they would have packed them in early like in football matches. Also there has been two recent occasions where ITV have run for over 6 hours with no adverts so it isn't unheard of.

The More4 commentators are much better, they're not actually being 'that' audio descriptive and are bringing in paralympic related facts, instead of civil war body counts.

With the way Channel 4's ratings have been going at the minute (e.g. being beaten by Channel 5 on quite a few occasions!), its no surprise they're cashing on on it. It's not as though it's the most rivetting piece of TV at the minute. Its just background noise for me, and funnily enough I perk up when the adverts come on Laughing .

Football matches have a half time. I assume that ITV did that for the Jubliee..... coverage that wasn't sponsored and ITV didn't have to pay for rights to
