They do - but LOCOG have to pay them for their services rather than the OBS being obligated to cover it.


Not sure what to make of the host graphics - kind of cheap with an animated bit to make them look not so cheap. Usually the Paralympics use the same graphics as the Olympics, so whether they're doing their own thing this year or these are just for the ceremony remains to be seen. I'm leaning towards the latter as I think they'd look a bit more official (with a flag) and a bit less general if they were based on the games graphics.

I'm pretty sure we heard more of the crowd at the Olympic Opening ceremony. Not hearing the crowd much is not giving it a good atmosphere on screen.

I've turned over to the AD commentary on More4. No idea who they are.

It really is more like commentary than AD now, the BBC AD on the Olympics Opening Ceremony reverted back to Huw Edwards once the athletes started appearing, the Channel 4 AD are not only describing what can be seen but also dropping in facts and figures just like a regular commentator would.

Is there a world feed? Who is commentating on that?

I don't think either Jon Snow or Krishnan suit this at all so far. Snow is particularly wooden.
